These plates were produced from Manington Moulds acquired by John Kemple in the 1940s. Does not have the Kemple mark- it instead has a “U” indicating it may be from an earlier time. Upon further research the U matches one of the Upland Glass Co. companies, which began before Kemple. The glass is definitely pre 1960s and has the ring of fire. Gorgeous plates. Just a tad over 7inches diameter.
Please see images for condition. While these are in excellent condition for the age- the outer edge is rough on some parts and there are some very minor dings. (They are so small- it was hard to get on photo.) One plate has a small crazing/hairline crack- shown in photo.
Overall, these milk glass decorative plates are in excellent shape with an interesting back story. These are a rare find- especially in a set- so don’t hesitate to pick these up for your collection!
